Our 3rd Saturday Programs are back this year! We will be offering these site-wide programs May through September. Program begins at the White Horse Inn unless otherwise noted. Suggested donation $2/person. All proceeds benefit the Trust.
The Ten Days That Saved the Revolution: Washington’s Crossing and the Winter of 1776

In the Winter of 1776, General Washington made a daring decision that would change the course of the American Revolution. Join Doug Miller as he shares the story of Washington’s gamble to turn the tide of a failing revolt. Mr. Miller is the former director of Washington Crossing and the current Historic Site Administrator at Pennsbury Manor.
Get Out and Play: The Schuylkill River Trail in Berks County

Join Tim Fenchel on July 20 th to hear about the significance that the Schuylkill River Trail plays in our region. Visitors will learn about the history of the Schuylkill River Greenways and their programs and projects. The mission of the Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area is to connect residents, visitors and communities to the Schuylkill River and the Schuylkill River Trail by serving as a catalyst for civic engagement and economic development in order to foster stewardship of the watershed and its heritage.
Our organization serves as both a National and State Heritage Area and we work up and down the river corridor, in five counties, to connect people and communities to the river, help people tell the story of our region, and celebrate the diverse history and heritage of our region. Tim has been with Schuylkill River Greenways since 2006, serving in several roles and functions over the years. He has over 25 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector and over the last 18 years with SRG has managed multiple grant
programs and dozens of projects.The HPTBC is a non-profit organization that acquires, preserves, and maintains historically and architecturally significant properties in Berks County, Pennsylvania and educates Berks County and its’ visitors about the role
these sites played in Pennsylvania and American history. The Trust seeks to foster community involvement and support in promoting awareness and appreciation of historic structures and encouraging their adaptive reuse. The Trust currently owns and maintains eight historically significant buildings in the greater Reading/Berks County
