      About Singing City

Now in its 64th season, Singing City stands behind its credo of “uniting
people through music since 1948.”  The choir presents exceptional choral
music in venues throughout the city.  Singing City is proud to have added
its children’s choir in 2010.  In a recently implemented program in two West
Philadelphia Schools, the children of the Singing City Children’s Choir are
mentored by members of the adult choir to enrich their overall musical
experience.  Singing City programming in the schools teaches basic vocals
and helps children find their voices.  Adult choir members help the children
discover their creative side and perform at a higher level.  The group also
takes choral music to the underserved, performing and beyond concert halls,
in many other venues including area care facilities.  In addition to
performances in around Philadelphia, the choir has traveled extensively -
across the United States, to Israel, Egypt, the Soviet Union, Cuba, and to
both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.  The group most recently
visited Brazil in 2009.  The choir plans to travel to Bosnia, Serbia and
Croatia in July 2012.  For more information about Singing City visit
