      Nature Tales

      NOCKAMIXON STATE PARK – Enjoy the fall with a nature story and a craft at Nockamixon State Park.  On Fridays September 21, September 28 and October 5 we will be meeting at 11:30 am at Lot 1 to hear our story.   Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to listen to the story.  Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy afterwards or go for a walk on the paved bike path to take advantage of the park.  In case of rain, call the Education Center at 215-529-7307 to verify the status and location of the program.  Nature Tales is for children 2 years and older, but younger siblings are welcome.  This program is FREE.

    3. Women’s event – Lavish & Re-New

      Emmanuel Assembly of God, in conjunction with Spanish Emmanuel, will be holding a Women’s event called Lavish & Re-New; Saturday September 29th   9:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.  Emmanuel Assembly of God is located at 1431 Lehigh Parkway East in Allentown.  Angela Coon will be sharing three sessions on being renewed Body, Mind and Spirit. Angela is a certified personality consultant, as well as, Creative Arts Minister at Calvary Church in Dover, DE.  She directs the choir, leads worship and produces musicals.  These sessions will be building blocks that will encourage and help women in their everyday life.  Everyone will have the opportunity to shop for clothing, purses, shoes and jewelry (all gently used items) for $1.00 per item. Also a variety of vendors will be selling their wares. One of our goals during this event is to make everyone that attends feel special and pampered.  To help with that, we will be offering free hand & face massages, nail color & limited hair styling.   Register by September 24th – Cost $6.00; after September 24th $10.00 which includes a continental breakfast and a Chick-fil-A lunch.  To register or for questions: Call 610-432-0982 or E-mail info@eagchurch.com

      Sept. 15 – “Vive tu Vida” – Move to the beat in a kids Zumba class, sample healthy food and smoothies, chill out with kids yoga and learn how to say ‘no’ to sugar. Join St. Luke’s Hospital’s diabetes professionals and caring fitness pros as you learn how healthy eating and exercise habits can help you BE and DO your best. Act out your inner vegetable as part of the show when PYT’s Storybook Theatre performs Kevin Henkes’ “My Garden.”

       

      Oct. 6 – Pirate and Princess Story Time – Shiver me timbers!  Join Commodore Kellie for a bounty of merry pirate mayhem. Talk like a pirate, sing a family-friendly sea shanty, earn a pirate name, hear fun stories, and discover some hidden treasure inside yourself!  Pirates are masters of disguise and surprise, so come in your pirate or Halloween costume, and be prepared for the unexpected!

       

      Nov. 3 – Teddy Bear Checkup – Bring your favorite bear or other stuffed animal to the Reading Room, and doctors from Lehigh Valley Health Network will listen to its heart, fix boo-boos and make sure all is well! Includes story time.

       

      Dec. 1      NCC Theatre Presents: Puppet Show, “Holiday Tails,” stories from our animal friends about how they celebrate Hanukah, Christmas and Kwanza. Make your own animal puppet after the show!

       

      Dec. 8      Paintbox Party with Children’ Mural Artist and Author, Roey Ebert.

      20 seats available – registration required; wait list in case of cancellations. Follow this former Language Arts teacher step by step, as you paint a picture pretty enough to give as a gift. No prior painting skills required. You can do this!
