Artifest 2013 at the Museum of Indian Culture10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Artifest 2013*, a unique multicultural arts and history festival, will
come alive on *June 8th and 9th, 2013*, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Museum
of Indian Culture in Allentown’s Little Lehigh Parkway. This year’s theme,
“moments in time,” encompasses an eclectic and family-friendly mixture of
living history presentations ranging from American Revolutionary War to an
Underground Railroad exhibit, PA German barrel making and roof thatching,
Native American cooking, 18th century trapper encampments, tomahawk
throwing, and more. In our cultural heritage area, Native American stone
and bone artifacts will be on display and the Museum’s curator will be on
hand to offer artifact appraisals. Throughout the festival there will be
antique cars and bicycles. Experience Old World cultural in our Renaissance
village, complete with fire breathers, aerial performers, belly dancers,
and sword fights.In Artifest’s Marketplace, enjoy international mouth-watering foods, shop
for unique handcrafts and folk art, see diverse demonstrations such as
papercutting and wheat weaving, chainsaw wood carving, basketry, Scottish
tartan weaving, Moravian stars and candlemaking, wampum loom working and
porcupine quillworking, Ukrainian pysanky, and Appalachian broom making.The event will also include plenty of hands-on activities at our
Kaliedescope Kids arts and crafts area, where children will be able to make
cultural crafts from Native American gourd birdhouses to Chinese Lanterns,
and paint the Artifest mural.The *Main Stage* will offer a wide variety of *non-stop live cultural
performances* from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. each day. This year’s line-up will
feature Native American Hoop Dancer – Matthew White Eagle from the MicMac
Reserve, Canada, Aztec Fire Dancers – the Salinas Family from Mexico City,
The Caribbean Steel Rhythms, African dance performing artists – Indigo L,
Lehigh Valley Cloggers, Kazka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Bucket Boys (bucket
and trash can performers), Prabhat Kumar’s Hindustani Music Academy and
many more.We encourage everyone to join us in their ethnic clothes and be part of

official dedication of the blue bird nest boxes along the Lehigh Parkway’s

CCBFC to present Adam Paul Williams
in concert with choirs on June 9
Christian singer Adam Paul Williams will perform on Sunday, June 9, at 6 p.m., at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church, I-78 & Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown, Salisbury Township. The concert also will feature music from CCBFC Choirs. A free-will offering will be taken.
Williams will be participating in worship in CCBFC’s morning services at 8:30 and 11.
A graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX, with a degree in music and kinesiology, Williams connected with a producer in Nashville and co-wrote songs for an independent album. That led to an opportunity in full-time ministry as a solo artist.
He has since performed across the country and around the world leading worship at churches. In 2010, he was featured at First Baptist Church in Atlanta with Dr. Charles Stanley and In Touch Ministries. Williams also is involved with the work of Compassion International.

Pillar College is NJ’s only Evangelical Christian College, accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Pillar College’s accelerated degree completion program is planning to open a satellite location in Phillipsburg, NJ with the anticipated opening set for this fall.
We are conducting free information sessions in area churches. Our next information session will be at the Greater Shiloh Church on Thursday, June 13th., at 7:00 P.M. in the Alpha/Omega Room. Greater Shiloh Church is located at 403 Pastor Fred Davis street in Easton. If you have the desire to complete your college degree, please plan to attend this free information session. Welcome to WOW! at St. Timothy Lutheran Church!
Starting on Wednesday, June 19th, and for several Wednesdays this summer, /St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 140 South Ott St. in Allentown/ will partner with praise bands from area churches to host WOW! (Worship On Wednesday!) at the Welcome Worship Center across the street from the church beginning at 7:00 P.M. Join us for informal worship and bring a lawn chair or blanket if you wish (seating is available). If the weather is really bad, we’ll be inside the church. Free snacks and fellowship will follow at 8:00 P.M. A free will offering to benefit a local charity will be received.
On June 19th, BANDBAND, the praise band from New Life Lutheran Church in New Tripoli will provide the worship music.
On June 26th, the praise band from Asbury United Methodist Church will be our guest.Keep watching for the services and guest praise bands scheduled for July and August. Questions?
