WALNUTPORT CANAL FESTIVAL WEEKEND
Its that time of the
year again. As the leaves change come down to the waterfront to experience
classic charm and an old world era at the annual Canal Festival. We will be
kicking off a weekend of activities on Saturday October 19th, and Sunday
October 20, 2013 along the historic Lehigh Canal in Walnutport. The Walnutport
Canal Association is sponsoring a weekend of family fun and history.
Put on your running
shoes! On Saturday we will see you at the Finish Line as we do our “12th Tow Path Trot”. The Walnutport 6k along the canal begins with registration at
8am. Bring a friend for a leisurely run or compete alongside the avid runners.
Cost is $15.00 in advance and $20.00 the day of. The event is rain or shine. At
9am the 6k Walk and Fun Run starts and at 9:30 the 6k will begin. Celebrate

This year we invite
you to join us for our first ever Feast-ival.
It will be Saturday 4:00pm-5: 30pm at The Walnutport Canal Pavilion. We will
have Live Entertainment by the Michael Peters and John Ortiz ensemble and hay
rides along the scenic canal. Come before sunset to see the beautiful fall
foliage along the water. Lorah’s will cater dinner. It is $12.00 for adults and
$5.00 for kids 12 & under. Adults Entrees include a choice of Roasted
Chicken, or a Pulled Pork Sandwich with a baked potato and coleslaw. Kids
entrees include a hot dog, baked potato and applesauce. For more Information

Come one, come all
to our Grande Finale! Join us for our Annual Canal Festival. Sunday, October 20th Festivities Begin at 12:00 and Conclude at 6:00 pm. Come experience the
heritage of life on the canal while visiting booths of our local vendors. We
have activities for the young and old alike. There will be arts and crafts, pumpkin
paintings, a casting contest, pick a pop, the candy wheel, face painting mining
for gold and a potter. E J the Snake man will be returning again this year, and
Juggler and magician Al Grout will be performing, as well as Jolly Holly the
Clown and local Poet Paul Martin.

Culture, Lock Tender’s House Tours, and Canal Historical Displays and
Demonstrations. Be sure to visit the Art and Artifact Museum at 429 S Canal
Street, where items from local collectors will be on display.
Enjoy sounds by the
Big Valley Bluegrass, and listen to performances of canal songs and stories by
Matthew Dodd. A Chinese auction will be tucked inside the canal pavilion with
great prizes available for the taking, Take a canoe ride down the canal and
view all of the vendors along the water. When you get out stop at the food
vendors and try out all of the many flavors of fall.

the safety of festival participants and visitors, no unauthorized vehicles, bicycles,
skateboards or inline skates will be permitted on Festival grounds. All pets
