SCHWANDT FAMILY CHAMBER ENSEMBLE TO APPEAR AT GARDEN SPOT VILLAGE
Performance scheduled for Sat., Mar. 17 in the chapel
NEW HOLLAND, Pa. — Feb. 20, 2012 — The Schwandt Family Chamber Ensemble will perform classical and sacred selections as part of the Garden Spot Village Saturday Evening Concert Series on Sat., Mar. 17.
“The Schwandt Family’s concerts are always well received,” said Colleen Musselman, director of life enrichment. “We are proud to welcome them back to our stage.”
Raised in large Christian families in northwestern Chester County, Eric and Joan Schwandt formed the Schwandt Family Chamber Ensemble after 22 years of marriage as a way of sharing the many blessings God has given them. Today, they and their seven children play works by Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel, Haydn and other classical composers. Members of the ensemble play violin, viola, cello, piano, flute and other instruments. They have performed more than 50 concerts in the last three years.
The final concert in the series at Garden Spot Village will be the Heritage Chorale of Lancaster on Apr. 21.
All concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the chapel at Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave. The concerts are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted at the door.
